New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1939. Signed limited first edition of Lauren Ford's beloved retelling of the birth of Christ. Octavo, original boards, illustrated. One of only 350 copies, this is number 311. Signed by the author on the front free endpaper with an original watercolor drawing of a singing angel. In near fine condition. Housed in the original slipcase which is in very good condition. Ford's beloved retelling of the Nativity of Christ, The Ageless Story, was named a Caldecott Medal Honor in 1940. The book contains an illuminated musical score of Signs of Solesmes accompanied by elaborately hand painted illustrations of the story of the Nativity with gilt decorated borders to each page.
