About This Item
Tight, square, uncreased spine has some sunning. Clean, unmarked interior. Some small areas of very light rubbing, soiling and creasing to the covers, but nice copy overall. 'Real art has the capacity to make us nervous,' writes Sontag with her typical wit and insight. This hard-to-find edition's far-out typography affirms this assertion: while comfort can be found in the Futura-inspired typeface and the way it connects the outer book with the inner, aggressive innovations pop up to unsettle the reader—not just the cover title with its spirals and dotted counters, but also the yin-yang dingbats, the tiny chapter headings centered over the angular initials, and the altitude of the epigraphs. 304 pp. Featured Rare & Collectible.
