Kaapstad [Cape Town]: Jacques Dusseau, 1896. Book. Good. Hardcover. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. xv, 408 pages, b/w plates, 2 maps. Covers a little soiled and worn on corners. Remains of a note on front endaper with line "passed censor" still present, old name on front endpaper, also a handwritten note of 13 lines on verso of half-title page referring to p. 142 mentioning that Luitenant Eloff, presently a captive of the British was always very bitter towards the English. The Jameson Raid was a botched raid against the South African Republic (commonly known as the Transvaal) carried out by British colonial statesman Leander Starr Jameson and his Company troops and Bechuanaland policemen over the New Year weekend of 1895-96..
