A very good later half calf binding. 4to. 26.8cm x 21.3cm x 3.6cm. pp.iv/pp.5 - 327/[17pp. - Index and subscribers' list]. Illustrated with 24 engraved plates by W. Grainger, C. Grignion, W. Walker, J. Collyer? and F. Bartolozzi after J. Vivien, C. Monnet, C. Eisen, J. Moreau and A. Kauffman, including a map (folding) by T. Conder. Brown calf spine and corners over thick marbled boards. Spine rubbed, 5 raised bands, and gilt title. Priz label to verso of the front board: "St. Mary's Medical School. Prize awarded to E. M. Brett, Psychological medicine - 1951". Later endpapers. Light toning to pages and engravings. Clear English text in paragraphs. VG.
