Illustrated end pages showing a map of Port Jackson and its environs approximately 1828. Red coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. The story of a man transported to the colony of Botany Bay, and of the privations faced and punishments meted out, in short, a tale of survival under extreme conditions. The book is showing its age and use. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with bumping of the book corners  the underlying board is visible. Cocking of the spine. Sunning of the back strip and to the edges of the front panel. Rubs, stains and marks to the book panels. Uniform tanning of the text block edges and there is lighter tanning of the pages. Some marking of the text from a previous owner. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 350 pages, two pages of advertisements in two pages blank,. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
