Cloth covered boards with black and red illustration on front, black print on spine. Boards lightly soiled, print fading, wear and fraying with bumps. Prior owner's name on front free end paper. Full page black and white illustrations on glossy paper, tipped-in; all illustrations present. Pages show dirty fingerprints. Pages and boards show damp stain on edges. Little, Brown hard cover, missing dust jacket; first edition 1917, but later 1927 printing. 119 pages. Illustrations by Harrison Cady. 12mo (4.5"" X 6.75"") 12th in the Bedtime Story-Books series. Poor Mrs. Quack the Duck has suffered terrible misfortunes at the hands of hunters with guns. Peter Rabbit, Jerry Muskrat, and the other animals of the Green Forest band together to help her find a safe place to live and to locate the missing Mr. Quack.
