Boston - Joliet - New York: P.F. Volland Company, 1927. PLEASE NOTE FLAWS AS LISTED. Hardcover pictorial binding has boards showing at corners, spine is good but paper is missing from spine. Cover depicting baby sleeping with fairies around her is soiled. Rubbing along edges. Hinges inside covers are very good - illustrated endpapers have no cracks in gutters. The number 10 is in marker on ffep. the binding integrity is good but just a bit weak in spots. There are closed tears on many of the brittle pages, but all is intact.TItle page detached but present. Page 15/16 is detached about 3/4 of the way. Page 17/18 is detached about 1/3 from bottom. Page 26 and 27.have a sticky spot so that part of a few words is rubbed away. Page 31/32 has a horizontal closed tear and a large chip missing which does not affect the text - page about 1/2 way detached. Page 33/34 is 3/4 detached. Page 39/40 is 1/2 detached. 40 numbered pages in all. Scarce title - FIRST EDITION in red on copyright page. Rare true first edition of scarce title.. Illus. by Ellsworth, Mary. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket.
