Illustrated throughout. A popular novel following the exploits of Verdant Green during his first year at Oxford University, at the fictional Brazenface College. Written and illustrated by Cuthbert Bede, the pseudonym of Edward Bradley, an English clergyman and novelist best known for this work. In the original green cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd mark to the board. Hinges starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound with front endpaper detached. Pages are bright and clean with light spotting to the first and last few pages. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Good
