Thick octavo (24cm); brick red paper-covered boards and black cloth backstrip, with titles stamped in gilt on spine; map endpapers; dustjacket; xx,1,035,[1]pp; illus. Signed by the author on the half-title page. Fine in a Very Good+ dustjacket, unclipped (priced $14.95), with a few small tears to spine ends, and a 1 1/8" split at upper rear flap fold. The Pulitzer Prize-winning author's definitive biography of Adolf Hitler.

Synopsis

John Toland, the author of fifteen works of history and fiction, including Infamy: World War II and Its Aftermath , received the Pulitzer Prize for his magisterial Rising Sun: The Decline of the Japanese Empire, 1936–1945 . Mr. Toland died in 2004.
