Illustrated with many drawings and photographs throughout. The first volume of Milligan's war memoirs. The book spans the period from Britain's declaration of war on Germany to when Milligan lands in Algeria as a part of the Allied liberation of Africa. Black Beauty According to Spike Milligan, 1996. First edition. A humorous parody of the 1877 novel by English author Anna Sewell, written from the point to view of Black Beauty, revealing what it's like to be a horse. Each chapter is introduced with a poem. Treasure Island According to Spike Milligan, 2000. First edition. A comic novel spoof of Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, Jim Hawkins has met a rum-addicted sailor known only as "Captain", who leaves Jim a treasure map upon his death. With his father dying, Jim is forced from the Benbow with his mother and his friend Groucho Marx to search for the buried treasure. In the original black cloth binding. Externally, excellent with light shelf wear only. Original unclipped dust wrapper very smart with light shelf wear and minor chipping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Contemporary ink inscription to front endpaper. Near Fine
