First edition oversized paperback, published by Arts & Letters Press, 1991. Includes both Volume 1 and Volume 2. One of the 600 first printing copies which were not intended for trade sales. Adolf Busch founded the Veinna Konzertverein Quartet, together with varying members from 1912 to 1951. Compiled by Irene Busch Serkin, and translated by Russell Stockman. Foreward by Ernst Gombrich. Volume One includes letters from 1906 to 1929, Volume Two includes letters from 1930 to 1952. Volume Two also includes a Chronology, Members of the Busch Quartet, Family Tree, and the Index. The two volumes together are 591 pages. Both volumes are 7" X 10". Volume 1 includes a small card signed and inscribed by Russell Stockman, the card is 4" X 3" and is taped to the first flyleaf with a piece of transparent tape. Volume One has some creases to the spine which are visible on the title on the spine panel. Couple of dots of age foxing to the edges of the text block - one on the fore edge, one to the top edge. Dot of foxing on the top left corner of the first flyleaf. Volume Two has slight crease mark on the spine, not as prominent as volume 1. Couple of small dots of foxing to the edges of the text block. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text block. Binding is tight and square. Not library discards. Attached are some photos of the copies we have in our inventory.
