About This Item

Washington: Unknown, 1832. In October of 1832 Andrew Jackson was running for re-election, and Henry Ashton was a member of Andrew Jackson's inner circle [Jackson appointed him to be the Marshal of the District]. Important to the campaign were the many "Hickory Clubs" formed to support Jackson. This pampphlet was "Adopted October 9, 1832, and Ordered to be Printed" and lays out charges against the opposition. This is a RARE item from one of the most important eras of the new American government. Softbound, with serw paper wraps; titling in black. Clean text; 23 pages. This is a Very Good copy, with a few issues. The front cover has a tear to the upper corner next to a stain. The text is toned but it is generally bright and perfectly readable; some light spotting. . First Edition. Soft Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
