About This Item

Reprint of the 1802/1806 editions, originally issued in 8 volumes. In this 1 volume "miniprint" edition, there are 6 pages of the original editions reproduced on each page of this one. The text is still clear and sharp - easily legible with the naked eye. Over 25,000 titles are catalogued. Among them are all the books the author deemed "curious, scarce, useful and important from the infancy of printing to the beginnings of the nineteenth century." THE BIBLIOGRAPHICAL MISCELLANY is a bibliography of typography and bibliography. These works remain quite useful for the study of 17th and 18th century bibliographical history. Also in the MISCELLANY are tables and details about the Ancient Oympiads, Arabic lexicons, Persian dynasties, Roman calendars - even a list of cities where printing was conducted in the 15th century. Bound in the original orange cloth, stamped in black on the spine. Oversize Hardcover. 9" wide by 12.25" tall. This large heavy book will require extra postage for Priority and International shipments, but only the standard charge for media mail. NOT superceded by Lowndes, who only covered English literature. About About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
