A nice hardcover volume, in dust jacket, of Arthur Koestler's most impressive work. A solid, clean copy of this classic, about very good plus in like dust jacket.The book shows foxing (discoloring from age) to the inside of the front and rear covers and to their opposite endpapers, as well as edges. The interior is entirely bright and clean. 751 pages, with index, references,list of works cited and appendices. Illustrated within text with 17 figures (drawings). Dust jacket has inside corner clipped (though not a price-clip, the original price is intact) shows wear at edges, and creasing and light wear to front, overall very good. The copyright page says 1964, with no further notice of printing status, thus the First US Edition, probably a later printing. 19742 .
