He is best remembered today for his staunch opposition to slavery, and for co-founding the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 1783.Forbes, the 6th Baronet of Monymusk and Pitsligo, was a Scottish banker, known for being an improving landlord and philanthropist.A new edition.One page of adverts to the rear of Volume II. In a full diced calf binding. Externally, generally smart, with a little rubbing and marking to the boards and spines. Spines and joints are a touch faded, fading to the head of the rear board of Volume I. Label to the tail of the spine of Volume I. Minor bumping to the spines and extremities, with a small amount of loss to the head and tail of the spine of Volume I. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the odd spot. Very Good
