Includes on the verso of the title page the armorial bookplate of Sir Thomas Brand, Knight, "Gentleman Usher of the Green Rod and Gentleman Usher Daily Wait to His Majesty Anno 1735". Large engraving on page 288, and engravings on chapter titles and tailpieces. Early to mid 19th century binding in brown leather with reddish brown spine label, raised spine bands, 21 cm (8 inches) tall, xxiv, 686 pages. Covers rubbed and lightly scuffed with some darkening to the leather, crack to lower end of front joint, covers well attached, text block sound, pages clean with only occasional light foxing.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
