Abraham Cowley was one of the leading English poets during the 17th-century. Cowley wrote poems on a variety of subjects, most famously an 'Ode to Pindar'. These poems, many of which were written about flowers and agriculture, were published throughout his lifetime as well as frequently republished following his death in 1667. This 1668 edition of the works of Cowley includes a life of Cowley by Thomas Sprat, the editor of this edition.
