Paris: I'Imprimerie de Bossange, 1813. Fine. Eight fine copper engraved plates from a French mining journal, extracted and bound together, depicting French and Irish sites. Vol. 33, Plates 1 - 6 & Vol. 34, Plates 7 & 8, from 'Journal Des Mines, ou Recueil De Memoires Sur L'Exploitation Des Mines..'
The plates, some folding, include: a cut away view of the French underground canal between Aubigny and Remilly which passes underneath Sombernon; a landscape view "... Barrage de Malain" and the ruins of the chateau along the Burgundy Canal; geological formations at Malain and Memont; diagrams of crystals; steam powered machinery; diagrams of the furnace at Vedrin; geological formation at Rochestown Hill; View of the mountains on the south side of Dublin Bay; and granite veins in stones from Killiney.
