Sydney: Beatty, Richardson & Co., 1920. 168pp, few bw ills. Or grey wraps. Front cover detached but present and in nice condition. Chip to spine which is mostly intact. Prev owners stamp on title page. Occasional very light foxing. Re-attachment of the front cover would make this a very nice example indeed of this scarce cricketing title. The author played over 100 games for NSW, played in 14 test matches and was later a selector for the Australian team. Includes chapters on Trumper and Spofforth.. First Edition. Soft Cover. Good. 8vo.

New Series Vol. 1 No, 1; Old Series Volume 14 No. 80 : pp. [76] including the wraps : illustrations by Norman Lindsay (Billy Bluegum), David Low, Claude Marquet, etc. : top wrap illustration of a "Hop" Girl. Wraps soiled and splitting at the spine; handful of marks to edges of the leaves; some of the leaves creased at the corners. The Billy Bluegum verses and accompanying sketches (p.15) are dedicated to the Officers of the training ship Tingira. The Tingira was originally laid down as the Sobraon for the shipping firm Lowther, Maxton and Co. "After carrying cargo and passengers between the United Kingdom and Australia for many years she was purchased by the New South Wales government in 1891. Moored off Cockatoo Island and under the control of the New South Wales State Welfare Department she was used as a reformatory or Nautical School Ship for wayward boys until 1911.
