Signed and inscribed by Huie to Jerry Harper on the half title-page. Following the journalistic success of his coverage of the Emmett Till murder, Huie covers the murders of three civil rights workers in Mississippi during Freedom Summer of 1964 in this important book. The book was so impactful to the Civil Rights movement of the 60's that Martin Luther King Jr. would later pen the foreword to the second edition.
