The photograph has few moderate creases at one corner (causing a hairline crack in the image), else very good; publisher's rubberstamp imprint on verso. Press release photograph of female aviator, Blanche Noyes et al. Glossy black-and-white (sepia-tone) photograph, measuring circa 9 1/4 by 7 inches. The photograph depicts female aviator, Blanche Noyes, seated, adjacent "other famous women flyers," Louise Thaden, Helen McCloskey and Helen Richey. The four are examining a piece of airplane equipment. The photographer's caption, on printed sheet affixed to verso, states: "Aiding America's Air-Mindedness. Blanche Noyes, who in 1930 took John D. Rockefeller, Sr. on his first and only airplane ride, and who has been appointed an air marketing pilot for the Bureau of Air Commerce, meets other famous women flyers, Louise Thaden, Helen McCloskey and Helen Richey, who are working in the Bureau, upon taking up her new duties in Washington, DC, August 19, 1936.
