Illustrations to the Hand-Book for Travellers on the Continent; comprising a Series of maps of the most frequented roads through Switzerland, Savoy and Piedmont as far as Milan, Turin, Chamberry, Nice and Genoa, Marking distinctly all the Towns, Boroughs, Valleys, and Passes, with the BY-ROADS .... Plans of Principal towns, Mountains, Valleys and Passes with by-roads. Tips for coins, hotels distances, and other facts to help the traveler. Maps engraved on stone by J. Lehnhardt, and published by Charles Jugel; Frankfort. 1844, 1st edition, 40pp, 10 fold-out plates, original paper-covered boards, text in German and English. Boards soiled and yellowed; spine covering missing; foxing and damp stains; fold-out maps and plans complete. Issued as a Companion to the Murray Hand-Book of the same title (issued 1842) and sold by John Murray in London. Lister describes this issue is his section on "Companions to Handbooks" (#3) and indicates that it has not been seen.
