London: Bodley Head, 1949. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. This is the first printing of the first edition. The half title page contains the signature of a former owner, but there are few other signs of wear or previous use. The edges of the textblock show light foxing The red cloth covres are bright,with light wear at edges and corners and some fading to the spine. Sadly, there is no dust jacket.
