Patricia Wentworth (1877 – 1961)

Under the pen name Patricia Wentworth she became a well-known British crime writer. Her novels include the popular Miss Maud Silver series of 32 books, and 34 individual books outside of that series, starting with the 1910 novel A Marriage Under Terror. The last novel of the Miss Maud Silver series, The Girl In the Cellar, was published in 1961, the same year the author died at the age of 83.
