The second and decidedly most bizarre of the wildly popular five-film series which began with 1968's "The Planet of the Apes." This now-classic installment involves a group of astronauts searching for the crew from the original film, only to discover mutated telepathic humans living in the ruins of the New York subway and worshipping a planet-destroying nuclear bomb.

Set in future New York City where apes rule the earth and nutjobs live in the abandoned subways. Shot on location in Calabasas, CA and Cantil, CA.

Green titled wrappers, noted as REVISED FIRST DRAFT on the front wrapper, dated February 2, 1968, with credits for screenwriter Paul Dehn. Title page present, dated December 20, 1968, noted as FIRST DRAFT SCREENPLAY, with credits for screenwriter Paul Dehn. 125 leaves, with last page of text numbered 108. Mimeograph duplication, rectos only, with blue revision pages throughout, dated 2/3/69. Pages Near Fine, wrapper Very Good plus, with light foxing to the spine, bound with three gold brads.

Description:
(1970 movie directed by Ted Post written by Paul Dehn and Mort Abrahams based on characters created by Pierre Boulle in his novel "Monkey Planet"). A 4-page tabloid-size 'newspaper' produced to promote the first London screenings of the film: Special Crisis Edition of 'The Ape' dated Friday, May 1st, 3955, with striking headline 'Kill All Humans!'; articles linked to and photos from the film; mock adverts; competition and reproduction of film poster. Age toned and folded in half, otherwise VG. Uncommon - several such 'newspapers' were produced to promote the films in this series but I have not come across this one before and cannot find another for sale on the www.
