Ross Thomas.” In later years Michael Lindsay would provide the dust jacket portrait photographs of Ross Thomas for such Thomas novels as Chinaman’s Chance, The Eighth Dwarf, etc. With Michael Lindsay’s bookplate. Some foxing to top edge, else very good plus in a near fine dust jacket. Thomas was not known for lengthy inscriptions and this one is unusually warm and affectionate.

Frontispiece portrait is a black & white photograph portrait from about 1877 of George Cunningham Edwards, the third student to register in the University of California.
