A dramatic story set in the late 18th century, in the world of classical music, featuring Bach, Chopin, and Mendelssohn, written by Piere La Mure, who wrote the novel Moulin Rouge which was the basis of the Oscar winning 1952 film by John Huston.

On the front pastedown is the striking Thomas Hardy estate bookplate printed in red which reads “FROM THE LIBRARY OF THOMAS HARDY, O.M. - MAX GATE.” 584 pages. Hinges cracked, very good in original brown gilt-stamped cloth. Books from Hardy’s library rarely appear on the market.
