The dust jacket has some chipping, rubbing and the spine crease. Although not a true 1st, a very nice early copy.

The spine is faded and there is a closed tear on the rear cover.

Covers soiled and rubbed with bumped corners, spine quite faded. Binding is somewhat loose and there is some staining or foxing on many pages. The illustration, of which I count 64 including the frontispiece, are reproductions of photographs primarily from the atelier of the Brothers Alinari, Forence and seem to be in good condition.
