Stunningly illustrated with tipped-in color plates by Edmund Dulac (1882-1953). Dulac was a French artist who became an English citizen in 1912. He is most famous for his illustrations in fairy tale books but was also a caricaturist, portraitist, sculptor and designer. Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch (1863-1944) was a noted literary critic, publishing several volumes; among these are Studies in Literature (1918) and "On the art of Reading" (1920).
