Small oblong folio (16 x 22 cm) Original blue paper wrappers (tear in the back cover & foxed throughout).The plates show the Roman alphabet (1 plate), English alphabet (2 plates), Old English alphabet (1 plate), Fraktur alphabet (2 plates), Chancellery alphabet (1 plate) and Chart alphabet (1 plate). This manual seems quite rare as it does not appear in Bonacini, nor on OCLC.

(without the last two blank sheets) Eighteenth century mottled calf binding, spine gold tooled, covers and inner dentelles goldtooled. Edges stained red. Woodcut printer's device on title, woodcut endpiece, woodcut initials. Manuscript exlibris at the bottom of the titlepage: "dono dedit amicus nunquam laudanddus josephus Colomberius". A note in pencil on the second (blank) flyleaf states that this is the copy that was sold in June 1861 (for 9F) at the second Millot sale (cat. p. 192 no. 1450. A very good and lovely copy. 1625. Rotterdam, Pieter van Waesberge, 1625. 4to. Engraved titlepage, (4 ff not numbered),55ff, 2ff. The last sheet page (errata) restored. (some waterstaining in the margin). 5 charming engravings. Wide margins. Nineteenth century marbled boards. Part 4 of the influential Emblemata series (Emblems chrestiennes et morales) by Zacharias Heyns (Antwerp 1566-1638?). Zacharias Heyns, son of Pierre, was also active as a publisher, bookseller and printer in Amsterdam and later on in Zwolle. Some texts and emblems he used are repeated by Maria Heynsz - no relative - in 'Bloemhof'. Although often found bound together each part is paginated separately and has its own titlepage. The book is in the form of a dialogue between Philosophia evangelica, Opinio perversa, Volupas, Humilitas, Superbia etc. First and only edition. [c.f. Paris, 1895. Large 4to. Four folio sheets folded in two (= 16 pp). Grey paper wrapper. Printed in various colours with the price-list printed on the inside front cover and vignettes on the inside back cover and the back cover. All sheets are dated 1895 and the price-list is dated September 1895.
Rare specimen that contains the fonts 101 to 218 and shown as samples used in calling cards, address cards, announcements of marriages, letterheads etc. The back cover contains several other ornaments (decorations and medals).

Paris, Septembre 1890. Large 4to. 8 sheets, printed on the recto and verso. Loose in grey paper wrapper (wrapper a bit damaged at the bottom of the fold and with some staining) Pricelist on inside front and back covers.
The fonts in the price-list are numbered 501 - 726 which correspond to the first six sheets. Two extra sheets (with other numbers) have been added it seems. And there is a four-page price-list inserted that is dated September 1894.

Published for the London World Fair 1862 with map of the exibition halls on the inside front cover. The "Expositions Universelles" or World Fairs were intended to show the latest innovations and inventions. The earliest of these fairs were held in France but were national. The first one of 1798 was the start of eleven national fairs. Sewing machines were invented during the first Industrial Revolution to decrease the amount of manual sewing work performed in clothing companies. Callebaut shows different models and explains the technqiue of them. Both full page illustrations of the factory show us what factories looked like at the time.
