Description:
Cambridge: Deighton, Bell, and Co, 1872. Hardcover. Very Good. First edition. 12mo. Publisher's green cloth gilt. Extremities bumped and rubbed, still a nice very good copy. Calverley was a legend at Cambridge for both his scholarship and his hijinks, and was slated for greatness before a tragic skating accident rendered him an invalid. This is considered his best work, humorous verse and especially his parody of Browning.
