A Technicolor musical fantasy about a boy who dreams he is a world ruled by a diabolical piano teacher who enslaves children and forces them to play a piano so immense, it takes 500 children to play it. The protagonist, a doctor who has moved to India from Germany to practice medicine is overcome by an obsession which eventually leads to his committing suicide. "Amok" is an Indonesian word of Malay origin, referring to people caught up in a blind rage who try to kill their enemy and do not care about whoever else gets killed in their way. From this novella and the word's meaning originates the term "running amok." Set in India. Yellow untitled wrappers. Copy belonging to actor Brian O'Sullivan who played Brian Reed in the episode, with his name and character on a label tipped onto the front wrapper. A deceased cop is sent back to earth from hell to hunt down escaped demons. In this episode he meets a young boy who was abused by his step father and seeks revenge. Cherry titled self-wrappers, noted as production draft on the front wrapper, and production number 467461, dated January 5, 199, with credits for screenwriter Fred Golan and director Larry Carroll. Munich: Dreilander Verlag, 1920. Collection of 38 issues of the landmark Weimar-era periodical highlighting fantasy, horror, and early science fiction stories. Text in German. One of the world's first fantasy periodicals, (alongside the Swedish "Hugin") "Der Orchideengarten" featured a mix of new German stories alongside translations of foreign literature (largely French), including works by Victor Hugo, Guy de Maupassant, Voltaire, Charles Dickens, Edgar Allan Poe, Joseph Capek, H.G. Wells, and many others. The magazine also made forays into the proto-science fiction genre, as seen in Vol. 2 No. 4, entitled "Phantastik der Technik." Irving Pichel's "Earthbound" finds Nick Desborough (Warner Baxter) called away from his honeymoon with Ellen (Andrea Leeds) for business in Paris, only to find his ex-mistress Linda Reynolds (Lynn Bari) sent the telegram. Linda, rejected by Nick, shoots and kills him and her husband Jeff (Henry Wilcoxon) is arrested and tried for the crime.
