Some offsetting and spotting, with 1" repair at right margins. 3) Africa, Including the Island of St. Helena, 1874, removed from Gray's Atlas, 33 x 37.5 cm. Hand colored. A few small edge tears and margins trimmed. 4 through 6) West Africa, North and South Africa, and Egypt with Part of Nubia, ca 1850, removed from an unknown atlas. Hand-colored. Approx 29.5 x 35.5 cm. Margins trimmed close, else vg. All mounted on plastic covered foam board with full details on the back. .

After the Louisiana Purchase and an extended Mexico going far north to Oregon, and modern-day Texas shown mostly as part of Mexico with some of the northern portion belonging to the U. S. . Period quarter sheep well rubbed. Binding is Fair/Good with two inch loss from corner of title page, not into text. But maps are VG/VG+ with an occasional small stain.. .

Blaeu, Willem Sicilia Regnum; [published by] Apud Guiljelmum Blaeu [Amsterdam: c.1635-40]. Handcoloured engraved map of Sicily (very lightly browned, colour somewhat later) 450 x 564 mm. [18"x 22"], -- with Stato della Chiesa con la Toscana (minor light staining in places). Maps are of the kingdom of Sicily and the State of Tuscany. Both are framed and double glazed. Blaue was a student of the famous astronomer Tycho Brahe. Wllem published his first Atlas, ATLANTIS APPENDIX in 1630, followed by ATLAS NOVUS in 1635. .

The large inset in L. R. Shows "Escambia, Santa Rosa Cos. FL. Showing Pensacola Harbor", and depicts the forts and the position of the U. S. Fleet blocking it's entrance.
