Light wear to spine with 3/4" tear to spine head, and crease to upper corner of front cover. 1954 was an exciting year for the motoring enthusiast. Grand Prix racing under the new Formula I presented as thrilling spectacle as any since the war and closer finishes gave additional stimulus to what is undoubtedly the most exciting of sports. The classic sports car races, international rallies, moto-cross and reliability trials, all contributed to a "vintage year.

Tokyo, 1970. No Binding. Near Fine/Fine. 11.75" x 15.25" 39 x 29.5 cm folder, with 12 brightly coloured monthly plates. Keisuke Serizawa (1895-1984) was a much celebrated fabric and textile designer. He began issuing calendars, each different from the prior ones, in 1946, and continued to do them until his death. The artwork and appearance of the calendars is highly distinctive, with their dazzling colours, their broad-brush typography, their bold, whimsical, folk-art inspired and often playful imagery ever viewed. In 1956, he was designated as a Living National Treasure by the Japanese government for his kataezome stencil dyeing technique. Some creasing to lower edges of plates, else fine.

Henry's autographed note reads: "I am not in a situation to judge of my ministerial lecturing. I cannot do more than a day, but next fall I shall be able to lecture. Collegially, Henry Ward Beecher." [May 31st, 1879]. Harriet's reads: "Very Truly Yours, H.B. Stowe, Hartford, Connecticut." [Nov. 23, 1884]. Harriet Beecher Stowe [1811-1896] was an American abolitionist and author of Uncle Tom's Cabin. Her brother, Henry Ward Beecher, was an American clergyman, social reformer, and supporter of the abolitionist movement.

Samuel Drew (1765-1833), self-taught metaphysician, former smuggler and shoemaker, author of a successful 'Essay on the Immateriality and Immortality of the Soul' (1802), and known as the 'Cornish metaphysician.'.

Addressed to Burke Aaron Hinsdale, Hiram College in Portage County, Ohio. James A. Garfield was the 20th president of the United States, serving from March 4, 1881 until his death by assassination six and a half months later. He was the first sitting memeber of the Congress to elected to the presidency, and remains the only sitting House member to gain the White House. He also studied law, was ordained as a minister in the Disciples of Christ Church, and served as a major general in the Union Army during the American Civil War. In 1870, the year for which this envelope is dated, Garfield was serving as a member of the House Banking Committee. This catalogue consists of a wooden box, size 32 x 32 x 7 cm, the top and bottom of which have a silk screened portrait of Warhol made and signed by Nat Finkelstein. The box contains a mirror, size 29.8 x 21 cm, with a silk screened portrait of Nico, an Andy Warhol corked bottle and a catalogue. For this catalogue Nat Finkelstein wrote a special introduction. Portfolio consists of over 100 unnumbered B&W loose sheets discribing more than a hundred various Andy Warhol items.
