Some pages unopened. Inscribed by the author in ink on front free endpaper: Thomas H. Preston / Souvenir of a happy visit to him in June 1926 / with the writers good wishes. Faint foxing of endpapers, otherwise contents very clean. In original binding of red cloth lettered in gilt on spine and in blind on upper board. Boards bright and clean, spine red faded but gilt quite bright, with a few splash marks of ink. Spine base blunted and top edge fraying. Firm.
