Spines sunned, covers partially sunned & lightly soiled, front hinge Vol I very slightly cracked, Vol II binding cracked, but not broken at page 113; spine top of volume 2 lacks 1/2" x 5/16" piece, texts clean: Good+ to VG-.. small 8vo. 1st edition, 1st issue: 1/2 title in each vol. Gold-stamped diamond-shaped front cover ornament. Spines are lettered, in gold, "An/ Old Man's/ Love [line] Trollope" inside of a box, the volume #, and "W. Blackwood & Sons/ EdinB & London". Occasional foxing mostly opposite plates, pages 209-10 & 289-90 have 4" closed tears, covers rubbed, bindings sound/tight: VG+. 8vo. Frontispiece, vignette title page + 14 full page engravings. Includes: The Life of Dr. Young by Mr. Herbert Croft

New York: Albert & Charles Boni, 1927 1st ed/6th printing Dec 1927, long inscription on the first title page in author's handwriting and signed by Author and Biller Houser to a Helen Lord, in the inscription gives a hint to who these people were, they were fellow teachers at an all male prep school named The Lawerenceville School in NJ, were Mr Wilder taught FRENCH, and had close ties to Princeton. BOOK: is very clean and the sections(signatures) are still very well bound,but the webbing between them is showing at some places, still very secure and held together tightly,other than that appears to be better than the Good+ I rate it.. included is a 9th printing,with its dustjacket which has chips and darken spine,maybe use it to protect the good one.

First Edition, Fifth Printing. SIGNED. The last printed page of the book is the About the Author page. At the base of the page is the number sequence which reads 71 72 73 10 9 8 7 6 5. SIGNED and inscribed by William Peter Blatty directly to the title page. Inscription reads: To Will - All the best - William Peter Blatty.
