About This Item
New York: Vanguard, 1937. First Edition. First Edition. Briefly INSCRIBED by the author on the front endpaper: "With best wishes / Dan Fuchs."
Basis for the 1947 film noir "The Gangster." One of the rarest film noir source novels, and a key work of proletarian fiction.
Very Good in a Good to Very Good example of the rare dust jacket. Ink stain seepage along the top page edges, with a touch of foxing on the front and rear pastedowns. Jacket is lightly chipped at extremities and folds, neatly reinforced at the verso with cello tape and brown paper, and a completely faded spine as nearly always found.
