Francisco de Quevedo (1580-1645) was known throughout seventeenth-century Europe as the author of two Spanish best-sellers, the picaresque novel, El buscon, and the satirical Suenos. Presentation copy, inscribed by Olivares on the title page, with his University of Houston business card laid in. Original black cloth binding, with gilt titles. The dust jacket is rather sun faded along the spine; otherwise very good. Inscribed by Author.
