About This Item

London: Robert Hale, [1968]. First British and first hardcover edition. Tape stain to rear paste down with offset to free end paper, some very light abrasions to the front paste down, likely from a label removal, light foxing to page edges and some throughout, a very good copy in a nearly fine dust jacket with a touch of wear to corner tips and spine ends. One of the scarcer Hale MacDonald titles as most went to the library market. (32425). Octavo, boards. A Travis McGee novel. First published in 1966 as a paperback original, this is the first hardcover publication, preceding the U.S. hardcover edition by two years. Basis for a feature film, one of two MacDonald/McGee books to be filmed. Hubin, p. 526.
