Marie Jakober grew up in a log cabin on a small homestead in northern Alberta, Canada. Her home schooling, by correspondence, and an imaginative flair for storytelling brought her international recognition at age thirteen with the publication of her poem The Fairy Queen . Ms. Jakober graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, with distinction, and has toured, lectured and served on numerous panels, including the 1988 international panel of History and Mythology in the Modern World.
