Description

The 1924 printing of this massive and historically important book for scholars and lovers of Yosemite, which according to Wikipedia was first published in 1918. We have not found any examples of the 1918 printing. This is an ex-library book in excellent condition for its age and size. Includes numerous high quality color plates, black and white photos , line drawings, charts and a very long (about 30 inches) pull-out color map and accompanying chart which are also in excellent condition for their age. The map is whole but does have much wrinkling - see photos. Pages are clean, clear and without marks, folds or foxing. However, there are a relatively few pages with tears. We have examed the book page-by-page and found the following with tears: small tears near the bottom edge of the Contents pages, small tears at the top margins of two (4) of the index pages, a large tear, repaired with scotch tape on page 33, several taped tears on page 69/70, a missing section - about 1 inch - at the top edge of pages 425/426). We can't guarantee that we have not missed any torn pages; but if we have missied any they will not be more than half a dozen. The book has library stamps including one on the title page, and stamps on the back side (mostly blank) of almost all of photo plates. XVIII + 752 pages.
